Hi there.
I’m Nick. I’m a writer and librarian living in New York City.
My science fiction stories have appeared in many magazines and anthologies. You can find a partial list on the Bibliography page.
As a reader, I’m a big fan of classic New Wave sci-fi, technothrillers, and the kind of stuff that gets called “literary fiction”—but I’ll read just about anything. Favorite authors include Kim Stanley Robinson, Samuel Delany, Margaret Atwood, Rich Larson, William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, and … well, you get the idea.
As a writer, I try to write stories that recapture the thrills I felt reading classic sci-fi as a kid: all those great, gaudy paperbacks from the eighties and nineties that filled the shelves at stores like B. Dalton and Waldenbooks. My family had a ton of them lying around the house, and we subscribed to some genre magazines, too. (My favorite was the now-defunct Science Fiction Age.) It’s been a surreal experience to see my own work appear in some of the same magazines I read growing up.
Other interests? I’m big into video games, drums, dogs, horror flicks, hiking, and certain kinds of progressive rock.
